The promotion of the Valencia Basket second team to LEB Plata is another step forward for L'Alqueria del Basket in the training of players. That success is the result of a great evolution of a good part of the bulk of the EBA team's roster, which won in its U18 stage the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Valencia 2018-19 and has now achieved a place in the bronze category of Spanish basketball. They are Millán Jiménez (2002), Guillem Ferrando (2002), Iván Cubero (2002), Alejandro Ortega (2001) and Alejandro Bellver (2002).

 

A generation that has passed through various hands throughout their formative stage in the Club and that had been standing out for many years in previous categories until it achieved a great success in its stage in the U18 A team under the command of coach Xavi Albert, along with the rest of his coaching staff: The title in the qualifier of València of the EB ANGT 2018-19. Subsequently, it was Ángel Cepeda who was in charge of continuing to mold that generation of players, already in his senior stage, endorsing the work and evolution with the promotion to LEB Plata in the Final Phase of València just a couple of weeks ago.

 

In that ANGT, Millán Jiménez averaged 8.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.2 steals and 8 in efficiency at the age of 16. Three years later he averaged 20.7 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 21.7 in efficiency in the EBA League Final Phase. For his part, Guillem Ferrando made in ANGT 8.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 8 in efficiency. In the promotion to LEB Plata he averaged 19.3 points, 4 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 24.7 in efficiency. Regarding Alejandro Ortega, the team captain made in the ANGT 6.9 points, 4.3 assists, 2.6 steals and 12.3 in eficiency. Three years later he has averaged 4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 11.3 in efficiency in the Final Phase.

 

These are just some examples of the huge leap that this generation has made in just three seasons and all of them are the demonstration of the importance of work at each stage of training and that the Culture of Endeavour has its reward.
