The U14 A team is looking forward to the Preliminary Phase of the Minicopa in L'Alqueria

The Preliminary Phase of the Minicopa Endesa returns to L'Alqueria two years later. After a season in which it could not be held due to the health situation and a generation of players who were unable to live this experience, Paco Llorens' U14 A squad will have the opportunity to do so. The coach continues at the controls of the U14 taronja team, with which in 2019 achieved the qualification for the final phase of the Minicopa and subsequently finished in fourth position. Two players and the coach tell us their feelings before the tournament.

 

"We face it with a lot of desire and a lot of illusion. Last year it could not be held because of the COVID and the team is very happy to be able to play it. They have worked very hard. We hope to enjoy it and also that it can be played in L'Alqueria is a pleasure," confessed Llorens.

 

The shooting guard Pablo Ferri, for his part, assured that "we are very proud of the tournament, of the role that the team will be able to play and the satisfaction that it gives us to be able to play it, which can only be played once in this category. We are looking forward to it and we will try to do everything we can to reach the final phase". His teammate Javier Viguer added that he believes "that we are going to face it very well, with a lot of enthusiasm and also here we have the support of the families and everyone".

 

On what is expected of the team in this tournament, the coach indicated that "something that is an internal rule of the club is the Culture of Endeavour. Endeavour is not negotiable. The only thing the kids have to do at this age is to enjoy themselves and give their best. Let's hope we can qualify but that they grow as players, which is the important thing". Viguer completed with the importance of the collective: "I think that what identifies us is teamwork, we are always united and we support each other".

 

Undoubtedly, the most positive note of the celebration of the Preliminary Phase of the Minicopa Endesa is the presence of the public. Valencia Basket will be able to count on the warmth of the stands of dozens of family and friends who will be the sixth player to try to get one of the six places available for the final phase to be played in parallel to the Copa del Rey in Granada in February 2022.
