Liga Senior Quirónsalud reaches 94 teams in its eighth edition
  • 02 / 10 / 2026

The eighth edition of the Liga Senior at L’Alqueria del Basket, in partnership with Quirónsalud, gets underway this weekend, continuing its steady growth. The amateur basketball competition, held at top-class facilities, will feature a total of 94 teams and once again surpass the 1,200-player mark. The inaugural edition had 13 teams, representing growth of more than 700% over the past seven years.

Of the 94 teams, 79 are men's teams and 15 are women's teams. The six men's divisions remain in place, with around 13 teams in each, grouped by level to ensure the league remains as competitive as possible. The women's division is also growing, with 15 teams setting a new record for registrations in this category.

Both divisions will follow the same competition format, with a regular season played on a home-and-away basis. The first half of the season will run until Christmas. A Cup competition will take place in January, followed by the second half of the league from February to May, before the season concludes with the playoffs.

All information about the league is available through this link.
