On June 16, Valencia Basket brought another edition of “Training with Referents†to a close, a project promoted by L’Alqueria del Basket’s Personal Development Department that aims to complement the sporting education of academy and school players through educational, inclusive and enriching experiences alongside leading organisations and inspirational athletes.

 

The closing event, held at L’Alqueria del Basket, brought together nearly 300 participants, including Valencia Basket players and representatives from Aspromivise Xàtiva, Aderes Burjassot and the Levante UD Foundation. The event marked the conclusion of a season defined by shared learning, togetherness and the promotion of fundamental values such as effort, empathy, respect and inclusion.

 

Before the activities began, Valencia Basket’s Head of Personal Development, Paco Pardo, addressed the attendees to highlight the journey completed throughout the season and to thank all the people and organisations involved in the project. The programme has provided unique experiences alongside athletes and groups who serve as examples of resilience, commitment and personal growth.

 

Throughout the afternoon, participants took part in different game stations and adapted activities, sharing the court and experiences through wheelchair basketball, inclusive basketball games, small-sided game situations and other adapted dynamics. The most special moment of the day came towards the end of the event with a joint batucada performance, where all participants shared music, dancing and fun in a festive atmosphere that perfectly reflected the spirit of the project. The celebration concluded with a shared snack, providing the ideal way to close another season filled with learning and unforgettable experiences.

 

With this closing event, Valencia Basket reaffirms its commitment to the holistic development of its players, keeping alive L’Alqueria del Basket’s dedication to values-based education, social inclusion and personal growth. The project is supported by MSC, whose backing helps continue bringing these educational and social experiences to the young athletes of Valencia Basket’s academy.
