Outstanding performances from Valencia Basket’s U18 3x3 teams at the U17 Spanish Club Championship held in Santiago de Compostela. The women’s team enjoyed a brilliant run to reach the final and claim the silver medal, while the men’s team also completed an excellent tournament by reaching the quarter-finals. Both results represent the Club’s best-ever performances in this national competition.

 

The U18 Women’s 3x3 Team completed a flawless group stage, topping Group D with a perfect record. The taronja side opened the tournament with a 16-6 victory over Unibasket and closed the first day by defeating EM El Olivar 21-10. On Saturday, they secured first place in the group with convincing wins over CB Prat-Seg Baltasar (21-2) and CB Pumarín-Gijón (21-2). As group winners, the Valencian side advanced to the quarter-finals, where they defeated Easo Basket Irulea 21-16. Casademont Zaragoza awaited in the semi-finals, but Valencia Basket once again showed their consistency and strength, securing a 16-12 victory to book their place in the final. In the championship game, Valencia Basket faced CB Ciudad de Móstoles. After an almost perfect tournament, the taronja team was unable to complete their remarkable run and fell 11-15, earning a well-deserved silver medal and achieving the best-ever women’s result in the Club’s history at the U17 Spanish 3x3 Championship.

 

Meanwhile, the U18 Men’s 3x3 Team also delivered an impressive performance. The Valencian side dominated Group E with a perfect record, opening with a 21-9 victory over Sagrado Cáceres. On the second day, they defeated IBSA Verde (21-10), EM El Olivar (21-15) and Liceo Monjardín (21-6), securing first place in the group and qualification for the knockout stage. In the quarter-finals, they faced Zentro Basket Madrid in a closely contested game decided by fine margins. The Madrid side eventually claimed an 18-15 victory, bringing Valencia Basket’s run in the championship to an end in sixth place.

 

With the silver medal earned by the women’s team and the sixth-place finish achieved by the men’s team, Valencia Basket concludes a historic participation in the U17 Spanish 3x3 Championship. These results reflect the high competitive level displayed by both teams throughout the tournament and allow the Club to return from Santiago de Compostela with one of its most outstanding performances in this national event.
