UCV and Valencia Basket launch a master’s program in sports physiotherapy with practical training at L’Alqueria del Basket

The Universidad Católica de Valencia (UCV), in collaboration with Valencia Basket, has launched the Continuing Education Master’s Degree in Sports Physiotherapy, a program aimed at physiotherapy graduates who wish to specialize in the prevention, treatment, and recovery of sports-related injuries.


The master’s program will allow students to gain specialized training in advanced sports physiotherapy techniques, including manual therapy, functional taping, and therapeutic exercise. In addition, students will deepen their knowledge in areas such as functional athlete assessment, the use of new technologies applied to injury treatment, and interdisciplinary work within high-performance sports teams.


The program will be delivered with the academic support of UCV and the direct participation of professionals from the Medical Services and Performance Area of Valencia Basket, who will contribute their experience in professional sports.


According to the program’s leadership, the goal is “to offer specialized training based on the most up-to-date scientific evidence and connected to the reality of high-performance sport.”


They also highlight that the collaboration with the club allows students to learn first-hand about the protocols and methodologies applied in professional environments. “The combination of university education and a professional sports environment provides key added value for the specialization of physiotherapists in the sports field,” they explain.


The master’s program lasts one academic year (60 ECTS credits) and costs €6,500. Sessions will take place on Fridays and Saturdays, alternating between the La Inmaculada campus of UCV in Torrent and L’Alqueria del Basket, one of the leading basketball training centers in Europe.
