L'Alqueria del Basket players visit Aspromivise occupational center

On April 9, the players of the training categories of the club traveled to the town of Xátiva to meet the Occupational Center La Costera - Canal, headquarters of the association Aspromivise. The same association that visited L'Alqueria del Basket in February and made us participate in the practice of boccia.

 

The day began with a warm welcome by the users of the center and a welcome speech, through which the director of the center, Brenda Sanchis, told us about the origin of the center, its general operation and the important work it does with people with functional diversity.

 

After knowing the main objective of the center, the coordinators presented the different tasks entrusted to the users on a daily basis. These actions are carried out by the children on a daily basis and range from the assembly of different decorative elements used in Disney amusement parks around the world, to the creation of invitations and business cards for companies and events. The players listened attentively to the explanations given by Brenda, David and Marta and then went on to take part in the work process together with the users of the center.

 

Players and users of the center formed a perfect tandem in the development of the different activities carried out, which, to a large extent, are the economic livelihood of the association. This complicity was reflected in the beautiful gestures of affection shown between the players, the children of the center and vice versa.

 

The day ended with the delivery, by Paco Pardo, of different club kits to all users of the center, which were received with great enthusiasm.

 

Players and technical staff agree on the great feeling of gratification they felt after having been part of the initiative that the association carries out and after having been able to meet the people who make up the center La Costera - Canal. These people are a great example of work and perseverance extrapolated to each of the aspects of personal and sporting life of people.

 

This visit is part of the new social project that Valencia Basket carries out through the Personal Development Area of the club, which works for the integral formation of the players of the school in different aspects of their private and sporting life.
