The Valencia Basket men's reserve team put the finishing touch to its first season in LEB Silver last Saturday, almost getting promoted to LEB Gold in Albacete. Xavi Albert's team gave a lesson of learning, growth and fight from the first game to get on the verge of a real feat. They have had experiences with the first team, so that both seniors and juniors improve in the category, which they have not only shown individually, but also as a team. How has the season ended, getting every last drop out of the competition. It could not be in the last game, but the season is magnificent".

 

In the locker room the feelings are very similar. Gonzalo Bressan regrets that "we are all left with the thorn of being able to do something historic, but we are very happy with the season we have achieved". For junior Sergio De Larrea "it has been something very special for all of us to be able to reach so high when nobody thought we were going to get there. It has been for me and for the juniors who have played an incredible experience that we will never forget".

 

Undoubtedly, no one expected at the beginning of the season that the Taronja reserve team would be one basket away from promotion to LEB Gold. beginning to the season of 0-7, with a first victory that came precisely in Albacete. Bressan recalls that "the beginning of the year was frustrated because we had to go up with the acb. As soon as we had the full team, we achieved the success we have achieved". The Argentinean was, precisely, one of the players who was helping the men's team. A circumstance that seemed an obstacle at the beginning of the season but later became a learning experience for all the players. Albert is satisfied for "the patience we have had in that talent we trusted we had in the reserve team has developed. The LEB Plata league has been a perfect space to develop all the players". Bressan did not imagine that he would make his debut with the first team when he came to LEB Plata last summer: "I came just to train with the acb. At no time did I think I would get to play. It has been a great opportunity for me and for the rest. We are very happy”. His work and that of teammates like Millán Jiménez and Guillem Ferrando with professional players has been very useful for the rest of the team. De Larrea assures that this work "has been reflected every time a little bit more until reaching the point we have reached".

 

The Taronja coach concludes that "a season that has had so many sensations and emotions is very difficult to summarize in just one detail.
