The Institute of Biomechanics (IBV) and L’Alqueria del Basket collaborate within the framework of the EYESPORT project, with the help of IVACE, which investigates the development of technology for the prevention of knee injuries in basketball practice.

The Kneemotion / IBV system studies the rotational stability of the knee with force platforms that provide indicators that allow monitoring of basketball players which helps to reduce the impact of injuries through two pillars. On the one hand, it makes it possible to anticipate and avoid knee injuries, such as the dreaded anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury through early detection of risk before the tear occurs. On the other hand, optimize the recovery process and return to the game by providing medical services with a tool that helps prevent relapses.

Within the collaboration between L'Alqueria del Basket and the IBV, the aim is to advance in the identification of those biomechanical aspects that make it possible to detect future problems in advance and that, therefore, serve as indicators to medical services and physical trainers to avoid injuries in their athletes.
