Pizcueta: "It's good that people can get to know how we work at L'Alqueria"

The training days for coaches of the Basketball Chair with the University of Valencia and the support of Caixabank have already returned to L'Alqueria del Basket one more season. This Thursday the main court hosted the first clinic of the 21-22 with the youth teams coach Ferran Pizcueta as protagonist and with some new features compared to last year. This clinic -presential and online- was followed by more than 100 coaches, as always from the Valencian Community, and also from other parts of Spain and even abroad.

 

Pizcueta has experience in EBA and National League as a coach and technical director in different Valencian clubs and is the current youth coach of Valencia Basket. He has also been Director of the Academies of Marina Ferragut, Víctor Claver and FP Unlimited Basketball, among others.

 

Regarding the Club's commitment, one more year, to improve the training of coaches, Pizcueta assured that "it is a fantastic format in an exceptional place. That Valencia Basket continues betting on the education of coaches that benefits not only the Valencian Community but basketball everywhere in the world. It can contribute first to know L'Alqueria inside, the way of working... Although the club always wants to maintain a line, each coach has his own dynamics and it is good that people can know them."

 

This year Valencia Basket has created the Coach Experience, showing the Club's methodology through a training session of one of its teams. This activity was premiered with Héctor Rosa and the female U18 B team that he manages. The coach explained that "it is very positive for people who come from outside L'Alqueria del Basket, who can come with the Coach Experience and see the methodology, how is the daily work, even if it is one day, how we train ... If they can take advantage to take things they like, great. The Club makes a big effort to carry this out."

 

After Héctor Rosa's training, it was the turn of Pizcueta's presentation on the "development of generic and specific motor skills with tactical intentionality prior to tactical and creative thinking in mini-basketball". The coach sought with his clinic that the coaches would understand that "players at this age have to develop their motor skills and do it based on an intention".
